Welcome to
The Global Museum on Communism
, an international portal created to honor the more than 100 million
victims of communist tyranny and educate future generations about past
and present communist atrocities.
The first of its kind, this
online museum offers an accurate history of communism, a nexus of
first-rate scholarship on past and present communist regimes and an
interface for victims and their families to tell their stories.
To
maintain an accurate and up-to-date listing of the victims of
communism, we have provided an online registry where families and
friends can ensure that their loved ones are never forgotten.
The
museum features powerful images that our research partners have
recently recovered, including photographs, propaganda posters, audio
recordings and video footage that will move you and encourage hope.
Communism has nothing to do with love. Communism is an excellent hammer which we use to destroy our enemy.
- Mao Tse-tung
The
Global Museum on Communism also serves academic communities by
preserving a permanent record of the immense suffering inflicted on
untold millions by communist regimes.
In the Hall of Infamy
are Lenin, Stalin, Mao Zedong, Ho Chi Minh, Pol Pot, Fidel Castro and
other dictators responsible for a century of communist terror.
And
in our Gallery of Heroes are the brave men and women who suffered as
political prisoners, raised the banner of liberty as dissidents, and
lived as everyday citizens under oppressive communist regimes.
Our
museum serves as a symbol of hope and a needed place of remembrance in
a day when many are forgetting the high price communists exacted from
the captive peoples and the rest of the free world.
The Jews
understand the power of memorials, museums and centers of academic
inquiry to protect the world from resurgent anti-Semitism in Europe and
elsewhere.
Joining the growing desire for permanent places of
reflection and research, The Global Museum on Communism provides a
bulwark against recurrent communist sympathies wherever they appear.
By
educating about past horrors and pointing to present dangers, the
Global Museum on Communism ensures that “never again” will nations and
peoples allow so evil a tyranny to terrorize the world.
