TheHilendar Holy Mountain Monastery existed in Stara Zagora in 18th-19thcentury and was one of the centers of the spiritual revival in thetown. In 1979 the cloister of the monastery was restored in the yard ofthe St. Dimitar church. The cloister hosts the exposition Levski in theStara Zagora region. The exhibition presents the three-year stay of theApostle in the town (1855-1858) and his role in the establishment ofthe local revolutionary committees. The precise rebuild of theclassroom of the St. Nikola School where the future Apostle ofBulgarian Freedom studied is presented.
